HTV Silicone Injection Moulding (Solid Silicone)
HTV/HCR Solid Silicone Rubber
Heat Cured Rubber is a silicone elastomer consisting of straight chains with a very high molecular weight. The system gets hardened either with an organic peroxide crosslinker or a platinum catalyst. HCR offers excellent heat and aging resistance.
The outstanding qualities of HCR are exploited in many diverse industrial uses:
- Sealings and pipelines in fluid cycles: Connections for building constructions and aeronautical applications, automotive sealings, cuffs and tubes,..
- Electrical covers and protection: Safety cables for office devices, isolators for electronical usages, spark plug connectors, cables and plug connectors for automotive uses,..
- food, pharmaceutical and bio-medical uses: tubes, profiles,..

HTV Injection Moulding Processes
By default, solid silicone rubber is dispensed into the injection moulding machine via a stuffing device. This happens either semi-automatically or, in the case of profile strips, fully automated. Typically, the cylinder and the outlet of the stuffing device are tempered to 40 – 50 °C to facilitate material conveyance.

!! The HTV injection moulding method is suitable for low til middle quantities or voluminous products !!
